1. About this policy
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on www.sophnz.com, what they do, and how you can control them. It forms part of our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal information, and our Terms and Conditions.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences over time, so you do not have to re enter them on every page or every visit.
Cookies set by our own website are called first party cookies. Cookies set by another company whose service runs on our site, such as an analytics or advertising provider, are called third party cookies. We also use similar technologies including pixels, tags and local storage, and this policy covers those as well.
3. How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart and account working, to remember your preferences, to understand how people use the site so we can improve it, and to measure whether our advertising is reaching the right people.
4. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the website to function. They keep you logged in, hold the contents of your cart, process your payment securely and protect against fraud. The site cannot work without them, so they are not subject to consent.
- Webflow Cookies. Set by Webflow. Manages your session and keeps the site working. Expires after 365 days.
- Stripe Cookies. Set by Stripe. Processes payment securely and helps prevent fraud. Expires after 365 days
Analytics and performance
These cookies tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, how they arrived and where they leave. The reporting is aggregated and we use it to improve the site. We set these only where you have consented.
- _ga. Set by Google Analytics. Distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_[ID]. Set by Google Analytics. Maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.
Functional
These cookies remember choices you have made, such as your delivery suburb or a dismissed notice, so the site behaves consistently on your next visit.
- SOPH cookies. Set by SOPH. client data collection purposes. Expires after 1 year after cancellation.
Marketing
These cookies and pixels let us measure our advertising and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. They can also be used to build a profile of your interests across other websites. We set these only where you have consented.
- _fbp. Set by Meta. Measures advertising and builds audiences. Expires after 3 months.
- Goodle Ads Cookies. Set by Google Ads. Tracks conversions and supports remarketing. Expires after 365 days.
5. Your consent
When you first visit our website, a banner asks whether you accept cookies beyond the strictly necessary ones. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category. We will not set analytics or marketing cookies until you have made that choice.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Each browser handles this differently, and the help section of your browser will explain how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of our website working, including the cart and checkout.
Deleting cookies removes your saved preferences, so you will see the consent banner again on your next visit.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to it, and our website does not currently respond to it. You can control cookies through the banner and your browser settings as described above.
8. Cookies and your personal information
Some cookies collect information that can identify you, such as your IP address or an advertising identifier. Where that happens, the information is personal information and is handled in line with our Privacy Policy, including the section on information sent overseas.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies on our site change. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated.
10. Contact
